From a Scholar's Studio
to Wen Gu Hall
In 2011, founder Chen Mo wandered the back alleys of Suzhou and, in a small zisha workshop, first felt the warmth of a fully hand-thrown teapot. Over the following decade he traveled to Hotan, Chiang Mai, Yixing, Yangzhou and Huizhou, seeking out the artisans and collectors who still work entirely by hand.
Wen Gu Hall still authenticates every piece individually and sources directly from origin, with no assembly-line reproductions. We maintain long-term partnerships with over twenty jade carvers, temple communities, zisha artisans and painters — every item traceable to its place of origin and its maker.
